The Backstory
Justin McCarthy, the designer of the boot and co-founder of Groundcover, was working in the unforgiving, snowy mountains of Lesotho when the Blizzard Boot was born. The design emerged from a clear need: a rugged outdoor boot that could take a beating while maintaining all the comfort and natural insulation of an indoor slipper.

- 100% Genuine Wool Lining: Inside, the boot is fully lined with pure, genuine wool - absolutely zero synthetics. Wool is nature's ultimate insulator; it provides incredible warmth when it's freezing, but because it’s naturally breathable, it also keeps your feet comfortable and cool if the weather clears up.
- Premium Floater Leather: We use a beautifully soft, supple floater leather for the upper. This ensures the boot moulds comfortably to your leg and foot right out of the box, without sacrificing an ounce of durability.
- Genuine Leather Midsole: True to traditional, quality shoemaking, a sturdy full-grain leather midsole forms the backbone of the boot. The floater leather upper is stitched-down directly to this midsole, providing structural support that stands the test of time.
